Newspaper November: Past and Present Newspaper Resources at the State Library

We will introduce state employees to the newspaper resources available to them through the State Library. This two part class will introduce both newspaper resources that can used to research into the past as well as do research in the present. It will also include a tour of physical newspaper resources at the State Library.

Learning outcomes include:


•Find articles in the major Newspaper databases available at the State Library

•Successfully locate specific newspaper assets like obituaries and historical classified ads

•Create information alerts using the newspaper databases

•Use eClips to search for Agency information in the news

•Use the Oregonian Historical Archive

•Use the Oregon Index for research

This class will take place at The State Library of Oregon (250 Winter St. NE Salem, OR) in Rooms 102 and 103.
